Alligator Records has set an October 6 street date for the timeless blues holiday classic, The Alligator Records Christmas Collection. The album, originally released on CD only in 1992, will be available on LP (red opaque vinyl) for the first time ever. The new LP has been remastered under the supervision of Alligator founder and president Bruce Iglauer. The original CD has sold over 90,000 copies.
The Alligator Records Christmas Collection features music recorded specifically for the album by 14 of the label's greatest artists. Songs include instant favorites by Koko Taylor, Lonnie Brooks, Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Kenny Neal, William Clarke, Little Charlie & The Nightcats, Saffire-The Uppity Blues Women, Katie Webster.
