TOMMY CASTRO NOMINATED FOR 2009 CANADIAN MAPLE BLUES AWARD

In international news, Castro has been nominated for a 2009 Maple Blues Award in the Best International Artist category. Winners will be announced in a ceremony to be held in Toronto on January 18, 2010.

The Maple Blues Awards are Canada’s national blues awards program. Their goal is to promote blues music across Canada, and to recognize outstanding achievement in the field.

The nominees are selected by a distinguished panel of blues DJs and journalists from across Canada. Members of the Nominating Panel are not eligible for any of the awards.

The winners are selected by the votes of blues fans from across Canada.
