Alligator Records artists Marcia Ball and Michael “Iron Man” Burks’ new releases (released April 8, 2008) both charted on the Billboard Blues Chart in their debut week. ON BILLBOARD BLUES CHART
MICHAEL BURKS’ IRON MAN #4
Pianist/vocalist/songwriter Ball’s Peace, Love & BBQ took the #1 spot, a first for Ball as an Alligator artist. Ball also debuted at #112 on the Billboard Indie Album Chart. Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Burks’ Iron Man took the #5 spot, the highest chart position Burks has ever held. Iron Man also debuted on the Indie Album Chart at #135, another first for Burks.
Since the release of these CDs, both artists have been
garnering massive amounts of press and radio play, with reviews for Ball in Billboard, The Austin American Statesman, The Austin Chronicle, an upcoming feature on National Public Radio’s Song Of The Day and much more. Burks' Iron Man was already reviewed in Billboard, Guitar Edge, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette, with upcoming features in Vintage Guitar and many other publcations.
